Learn More About Mrs. Haldy!Hello! My name is Brandy Haldy and I have been teaching at Swartz Creek Middle School since August 2001. I graduated in 2001from Wayne State University in Detroit where I also had the opportunity to play competitive volleyball on a full scholarship. In April 2004 I earned my Master's degree from Marygrove College and I completed five more classes from Fresno Pacific University during the summer of 2008 to complete a total of thirty credits beyond my Master's. I taught eighth grade Earth Science for the first six years of my teaching career and switched to seventh grade English-Language Arts for the 2007-2008 school year. I have served as a member on Swartz Creek's Curriculum Council from 2004-2007 and I was also the Middle School Science Department Specialist during the 2006-2007 school year. I have enjoyed coaching 7th and 8th grade Volleyball, Freshman Volleyball, and JV Volleyball as well as 7th and 8th grade Cross Country and Track during my first few years teaching at Swartz Creek Middle School. I am an avid sports fan, as most of my students find out rather quickly. There is a certain school in the Ann Arbor area that I am partial to during the fall months, but that other one in East Lansing is not so bad when it comes to basketball. When it comes right down to it though, I'll always believe in the Maize and Blue! My husband and I were married in August 2002 and we have two extremely energetic Lab-Dalmatian mix dogs: Bosley (black) and Bronson (chocolate). We are both certified SCUBA divers. So far the most exciting place I have went diving is off the coast of Jamaica (James Bond Beach). My husband started the hobby before I did, so he has quite a few more dives under his belt. His favorite place to dive is Cozumel, Mexico. We have not really had the opportunity to do much diving since our honeymoon, but we hope to get back into it sometime very soon! On April 4th, 2006 my husband and I became first time parents to a beautiful baby girl. We named her Madison Theresa, after my mother who passed away in December 2001. She was 7 pounds 12 ounces and 20 inches long. We then had a little boy named Thomas James. He was born on February 25, 2008 weighing 8 pounds 10 ounces and was 20.5 inches long. I'm sure you will hear many stories about my children throughout the school year! I look forward to a great school year filled with many memorable moments! Please feel free to contact me about any concerns you may have and I will do my best to help in any way that I possibly can. Brandy Haldy 591-1730 Conference Hour for 2008-2009 School Year: 3rd Hour
